Meet Joe Liberatore

Zoning Board of Appeals Member. Elect for Trustee.

I am proud to announce my candidacy for Trustee of the Village of Pelham Manor, running on the Neighborhood Party line alongside our dedicated Deputy Mayor, Breda Bennett.

For 25 years, my family and I have called Pelham Manor home. We live in a warm, unique, and neighborly community where our children walk safely down tree-lined streets. Having raised my family here, I am deeply committed to preserving the character of our village while promoting its fiscal health, public safety, and long-term sustainability for generations to come.

My career has been defined by financial leadership, risk management, and public service. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and fractional CFO, I have spent decades managing, auditing, and protecting the financial health of both for-profit companies and non-profit organizations including those in the conservation and environmental education space. Furthermore, my time serving as the Deputy Superintendent and CFO for the New York State Insurance Department gave me extensive insight into government finance, public accountability, and structural oversight. I hold both an MBA in Finance and a BS in Accounting from Fordham University, and I intend to bring these exact skills to the Pelham Manor Board of Trustees to ensure every tax dollar is managed with the utmost care, transparency, and strategic vision.

True civic duty means actively giving back to the community that gives us so much. Over the years, I have sought to serve Pelham Manor in a variety of capacities:

  • Village Governance: Since my appointment to the Pelham Manor Zoning Board of Appeals in May 2023, I have worked collaboratively to evaluate variance applications and uphold our village zoning code. This service has given me deep, foundational insight into the daily operations and governance of our village.
  • Faith & Community: I am honored to serve our local parishes as a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) and as a trustee and finance chair at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.
  • Youth Sports: Investing in our youth is investing in our future. I have spent years coaching local young athletes through Pelham Little League Baseball and Softball, Pelham Recreation Soccer, and CYO Basketball.

My approach to leadership is simple: it is collaborative, accessible, and deeply rooted in our community. I believe in listening to every voice, hearing every perspective, and maintaining an open-door policy for all of my neighbors.

As your next Trustee, I look forward to working side-by-side with Deputy Mayor Breda Bennett to deliver the proactive, fiscally responsible, and collaborative leadership that Pelham Manor deserves. I welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and your vote.
